Fly Agaric

The Fly Agaric Came to Me

October 18, 20253 min read

I never really planned to dive deeper into the world of Amanita muscaria - The Fly Agaric.

But sometimes a topic finds you — not the other way around.

It started subtly:
At a photoshoot, someone left a flyer on the table. It was about fly agaric retreats — that bright red mushroom from children’s books and old fairy tales.

Then two old friends reached out:
“Hey Winni, we’re organizing an online congress about Amanita. Would you like to be a speaker?”

Before leaving, they handed me a small pouch of dried mushroom powder.
Not as a suggestion — but as an invitation:
To connect with this strange and ancient medicine in my own way.

I’ll be honest:
I was skeptical.

To me, Amanita was either a poison, or a myth. Not something I’d ever thought of exploring intentionally.

But… curiosity had been stirred.
So I began to research.

🍄 More Than a Myth

What I found was unexpected.

Not a “miracle cure.”
Not another shortcut to transformation.

But rather…
A mirror.
A dream ally.
A teacher of paradox.

Amanita muscaria doesn’t “show you the light.”
It humbles you — invites you into deep rest, altered perception, and nonlinear integration.

Across cultures, the mushroom has been connected with dreamwork, somatic healing, and threshold states — when we are neither here nor there.

Used improperly, it can be destabilizing.
But approached with respect, and within a safe container, it seems to awaken something quiet and ancient inside.

🌀 Integration Is the Real Journey

So when my friends asked me to speak at the Amanita Online Congress, I said yes.

Not because I have all the answers.

But because what comes after the experience — the part most people overlook — is what I’ve been holding space for, for years.

As an Inner Growth Coach, I’ve walked alongside hundreds of people after the peak:

  • After the retreat

  • After the vision

  • After the breakdown or breakthrough

Because what you touch in an altered state only matters if it finds rhythm in your daily life.

So that’s what I’ll be speaking about:

🧭 What happens after a deep inner experience — whether it’s in daily life, in a ceremony, or through spontaneous insight?
🌿 How do we stay connected to what we saw “there”?
✨ And how can integration feel honest — not like a performance or pressure, but like a homecoming?

👣 Not a Solution — But a Threshold

I don’t see Amanita as a solution.

But I do see it as a potential doorway.
What happens afterwards — the integration, the realignment, the human work — is the actual path.
